Meet the Team
Aimee Calder - MCP
I am dedicated to supporting children and teens as they navigate life’s challenges and build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.
I believe every child and young person deserves a safe, welcoming space where they feel heard, understood, and accepted. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs, strengths, and developmental stage. Whether a child is learning to express big emotions or a teen is navigating anxiety or relationships, I strive to create an environment where growth and healing can happen.
I specialize in working with children and youth using evidence-based, developmentally appropriate approaches. My primary area of expertise is play therapy, which allows children to communicate, process experiences, and develop healthy coping skills in a way that feels natural and engaging. For teens, I primarily draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and person-centred therapy. These approaches provide practical, evidence-based strategies while recognizing the importance of each individual’s unique experiences and strengths.
I have been involved in the South Delta community for many years through tutoring (Calder Tutoring), teaching piano, coaching field hockey, and volunteering. I love the South Delta community and am so excited to continue my work here.
My professional experience includes working as a Practicum Clinician at Child & Youth Mental Health with the Ministry of Children and Family. I have also worked as a Child & Youth Care Counsellor at Options Community Services.

Jillian Calvert - MCP
My interest in pursuing a career in counselling was cultivated through several years of coaching adolescents in field hockey at South Delta Secondary School, as well as through my involvement with the Falcons league. Recognizing the significant changes that occur during adolescence, I was inspired to support young people on this pivotal life journey, helping them navigate the complexities and challenges they face.
Driven by a passion for promoting mental and emotional well-being, I am committed to assisting clients in cultivating an authentic sense of self. I believe that meaningful healing and growth are most effectively facilitated within a therapeutic environment characterized by safety, warmth, and acceptance. Building on this foundation, I collaborate closely with my clients to set and achieve personalized therapeutic goals, tailoring my approach to align with each individual’s unique needs, circumstances, and worldview.
As a compassionate and empathetic counsellor, I place great importance on establishing a trusting and genuine relationship with my clients. I strive to create a space where clients feel truly supported, understood, and free to explore their internal experiences without fear of judgment. My therapeutic approach emphasizes collaborative exploration, where I work together with clients to identify underlying patterns, recurring themes, and cognitive or emotional barriers that may hinder their progress. I recognize that each individual’s worldview, beliefs, and life experiences are central to their healing journey, and I make a conscious effort to honour and respect these perspectives throughout the process.
I value the importance of understanding how a person’s past experiences influence their current thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and beliefs. By exploring these connections, I aim to foster insight and facilitate meaningful change. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients reframe unhelpful thoughts; Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which encourages acceptance and mindfulness strategies; and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which explores the different parts within a person to promote self-trust and deeper understanding.
Dedicated to my ongoing professional development, I continuously seek opportunities to expand my knowledge. I believe that building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is fundamental to empowering clients to discover and harness their inner resilience. My ultimate goal is to support clients in uncovering their innate strengths and tools, enabling them to work toward lasting and meaningful change in their lives.
